Personneltoday.com is the website for the UK’s leading HR publication, Personnel
Today magazine. The site is a great resource for HR practitioners in Europe, with dedicated news, events, legal, yardstick, directory and careers sections. Given this, much of the content is of limited use for Australian HR practitioners, with the exception of its features archive. As the practice of UK and European HR is often a good year or more ahead of local HR practice, this makes many of the issues explored in the features archive doubly useful.
The UK is also facing a serious skills shortage, and Personneltoday.com contains some great research and resources to provide HR professionals with ideas on tackling the issue. The website includes a plethora of articles on other issues, with some of the more relevant features for Australian HR professionals being how to get the best out of interim managers, improving HR in higher education, making the most of a migrant workforce, the seven deadly sins of management and how to deal with expats when they return home. Given the considerable number of features available, a handy search engine makes topic-specific searches easy.
Navigation is an effortless process, with most of the information-rich content no more than a click or two away. Design is equally as impressive. Well worth a look for keeping abreast of HR practices.
