Breakfast Briefing: HR within Australia’s top companies

Human Resources magazine conducted a comprehensive survey of the S&P/ASX top companies in early 2007. This annual survey sheds important light on the business of people management within Australia. The survey examined:

• How centralised vs. decentralised HR functions are working within different industries

• Qualifications and affiliations of the heads of HR

• Board and executive management representation as well as arguments for and against a HR seat at the table

• Reporting structures and whether or not HR should report to the CEO, CFO or other functions

• HR budgets and spend within the top ASX companies and how this has changed in recent times

Sponsored by Accumulate, Human Resources magazine ran a series of articles based on the findings of the survey, and also ran breakfast briefings in Sydney and Melbourne where the findings of the survey were launched.
