Electronic recruiting exchange

www.erexchange.com

The electronic recruiting exchange (ERE) started as an email discussion list for recruiters in early 1998, which allowed recruitment professionals to receive feedback from their peers. Since then it has grown to become one of the most comprehensive collections of recruitment information online.

Accessing ERE’s resources requires a subscription (free), with options of subscribing to eight email newsletters covering all aspects of recruiting, such as effective recruitment branding, tools, retention and future trends. Sixteen international recruitment experts pen the articles for the newsletters, which are also archived on the website. A sampling of these includes ‘Reduce advertising expenses and invest in your recruiters’, ‘Accommodating the renaissance job seeker’ and ‘Keeping your employee from leaving: some tips for difficult times’.

ERE also contains a resource centre with in-depth reports and analysis. However, these are only available with a paid subscription, with access starting at US$25 and up. The online forum is still active; however, user interest has waned significantly since ERE’s inception.

For any HR or recruitment professional involved heavily in this area, ERE is definitely worth a bookmark.
