BNET

www.bnet.com

BNET is a ‘business thought leadership directory’ owned and operated by CNET, a large US-based corporation which provides information and services for the IT sector. BNET provides a wide variety of business-related information on topics such as communications, risk management, finance, law, marketing and human resources.

Each content channel contains further sub-channels of information, and the amount of information is almost overwhelming in its extensiveness. The HR channel covers topics such as gender and diversity, professional development, recruiting, corporate culture and performance management. Other useful channels for HR professionals include leadership and strategy.

Content is topical and well-targeted towards respective user groups. BNET employs a team of researchers to trawl the internet for relevant articles, and the large majority of resources is drawn from a vast array of other websites. However access to most content requires registration (which is free). This is a painless process, as long as one opts out of the promotional offers that are normally bundled with registration.

BNET does a great job in breaking down the formidable amount of content into relevant areas, and design is effective in its simplicity. Browsers do need time to make the most of BNET, but there are a good number of payoffs as a result.
