You Inc.

You Inc.

by J McGrath

Harper Collins Publishers, 2004

$29.95

For those that don’t know, John McGrath is the driving force behind a successful property group with exceptional client service being the cornerstone of his business philosophy. He has had a long and lucrative career in property sales and today runs the largest privately owned residential real estate agency in Australia.

You Inc. is McGrath’s third book and he draws from the reservoir of his business (and personal) experiences in creating a practical and attainable system of personal development aimed at maximising personal and business potential. The book is divided into four sections covering personal, business, leadership and sales concepts.

What is interesting about this book is McGrath’s attitude that every event in life is a learning experience and by learning these lessons people can improve themselves. He uses the experiences of various associates as illustrations of various concepts from life-balance to trust to self belief to giving due recognition to deserving people. The book is strong on emotive triggers and although it’s very heavy on the business applications of lessons contained therein, they can be applied to non-business conditions as well.Very easy to read, this book will mainly appeal to people in marketing or sales roles or anyone looking to exploit their personal potential to achieve business success.
